Looking Forward To Some Good Times

It's no secret that I love to travel. Whether it's in Michigan, or across the country, I love to see it all. Some places are so special I have to go back again and again. This year is already full of things to look forward to. It's hard to believe a year ago I was starting my first week of work at Disney World for the Disney College Program. I already went back when I visited Linnette and Sofia last month, but like I said, some places I am just drawn to and need to go back time and time again. It's my home away from home.

Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee is also a place I like to go back to. I will be going there in June with some friends for the yearly music festival. In the twist that is life, my friend Caren, whom I met during the Disney College Program, is from Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville is about an hour north of Manchester. I had asked Caren what her plans were for her 22nd birthday. Last year, for her 21st, she was in Florida. She goes to Western Kentucky University and apparently there isn't much to do there. So on a whim, I decided I would visit her so she would have a good 22nd birthday. She has never gone out on the town in Nashville so we'll explore it for the first time together :) On a side note, I just thought about it, and I spent my 22nd birthday at Disney World with a friend from high school. I had planned to go alone and she needed to get away from it all (including her newly ex-boyfriend who was in...Tennessee!) WOW. This is getting bizarre. So just as Caren had thought she was going to spend her birthday alone, I decided to tag along.

Well, I was celebrating my good friend Jenny's birthday in Ann Arbor at Mongolian Barbeque and was talking about it. My friends Randy and Mandy said it sounded like so much fun, and at the spur of the moment, I asked them if they'd like to tag along. I knew it would be ok with Caren because she is just like me. Mandy realized she would be house sitting so she wouldn't be able to go, but Randy said he was in. The next day, my friend from culinary school, Samantha, had a status on facebook that she had a major desire to travel. I commented that she should join me for the trip and she messaged me immediately saying she would love to go. So I decided to set up a facebook group page for the trip so I didn't have to tell everyone information individually. That night, I went to visit my friends back at home, and after a few drinks I told my friend Brandon about the trip and he said "You don't have to sell it to me, I was sold already." haha. So he was in! Another side note. Me, Jess and Brandon are going to Bonnaroo together this summer. This whole post seems to be surrounded by Florida, Tennessee, and the same people. It's just too weird not to mention.

After setting up the page and telling my friend Amber about it, she told me our mutual friend from Culinary school, Kristin, had been talking up a storm about Nashville. So I invited her. She, in an unfortunate turn of events, got laid off due to budgetary cuts, so she decided to go on an adventure of her own and take a road trip to L.A. where her son has just moved a few weeks ago after graduating from Full Sail. So now that there was one spot open again, I asked my great friend Bernadette if she'd like to join. She had met Caren when we all went to Salem for Halloween and we had a blast! She called me today to let me know she asked for Friday off so now instead of just me visiting Caren, it's now me, Bernadette, Brandon, Randy, and Samantha! It should be an amazing time and I'm so looking forward to this mini-vacation. 15 more days!
