Sure Looks Good To Me

Last week-end was better than I ever imagined it could be. I knew it was going to be so much fun but it was by far one of my favorite week-ends ever. I worked at the bed & breakfast in the morning and when I got out at 9am, went straight to my apartment to wait for everyone to arrive. It was no more than 10 minutes when everyone arrived and we packed up the car. We had great weather so it flew by really fast. We only hit one patch of traffic around 1pm because of construction. It was only for a mile, but people got impatient and were getting off the highway via an on-ramp! We just happened to be getting off that exit to grab a Starbucks and when we were going to get back on, it was impossible! So we had to get on the other side of the highway and use that ramp.
When we got to Caren's apartment in Bowling Green, we put all our stuff in her car and headed to her house in Nashville! I had grabbed some food from work the night before so we ate in for dinner Friday night.

We also made heart-shaped strawberries to put in our raspberry wine in honor of Valentine's Day :)

Then, we got ready and went out for the night!!! We started out at a bar called Tequila Cowboy. This bar was unique because the main bar had an old car hanging above the bar. Also, it had different little rooms/bars attached to the main one, so you could go down a corridor and all of a sudden you were in a small bar with a live band. All the bands at all the bars we went to were phenomenal. Me and Brandon went exploring while Caren, Bernadette and Samantha danced on the elevated dance floor. Then we started the shots. Brandon got us a cherry sucker shot and then we went upstairs to see the mechanical bull and went to a VIP party.

We then headed to Robert's Western World and got a few more drinks and listened to another great band. While there, we were told Kid Rock was next door at Tootsie's so we traveled a few yards and got in just in time. Kid Rock was sitting down next to Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. Dan was wearing the black leather jacket he wore a few days earlier at the Grammy's.
Around 3am, we found our way to the car, found our beds and passed out!
On Saturday, we woke up and made our way over to the Loveless Cafe. There was a 2 and a half hour wait, so we bided our time by taking lots of pictures, coloring pictures, and checking out the gift shops. When we were finally seated, we were all ravenous! As soon as we blinked, fresh hot biscuits were placed on the green and white checked tablecloth. The stack was accompanied by house made peach, blackberry, and strawberry jams.

I ordered the biscuit sampler which included steak, ham, house smoked pulled pork, and fried chicken. SO AMAZING!

After that delicious breakfast, we were all in a major food coma, so we took a little nap. After waking up, we decided to see a bit of the town. We went to Nashville's Parthenon and then the walking bridge, which offered a beautiful view of Nashville's skyline.
We then went back to the house to get ready for the night. We had a 10pm reservation at Merchants and got there right on time. Our waiter, Ryan, was fantastic and suggested a melon ball shot for our first drink.

At midnight, a peach cobbler was presented with a candle to ring in Caren's 22nd birthday!
After dinner, we went to the WildHorse Saloon. We line danced, wobbled, and worked off some of that delicious meal. We went to Coyote Ugly next, and did a shot ski!
We decided to head back to the car but stopped in at the Wild Beaver saloon on the way. This proved to be a great decision because of the cheap apple and cherry pie shots, great singers performing karaoke, and the mechanical bull. Brandon performed "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness while Caren and Samantha rode the mechanical bull. My friends are very entertaining :) As we were leaving, me and Samantha saw Dave and Ben from the Buried Life and talked to them for a few minutes and also got a picture with them!
It was a great ending to a great night, and an awesome week-end! We made our way to the car, and Caren's house and went to sleep. I didn't want to go to sleep because I knew when I woke up it would be time to leave :( But we woke up and to make it better, Bernadette made us eggs and biscuits for breakfast!
Caren's still not quite awake and I love her for this picture lol! My friends are goofy :) We packed our stuff up in Nashville and made our way back to Bowling Green to get my car and pack everything in there for the ride home. Caren wanted us to leave about as much as I did. But unfortunately we really did have to leave, so we all hugged and said goodbye.
The ride back really wasn't bad at all. Brandon was the dj and we had some great conversation getting to know each-other better. When we got back to my apartment complex, we divvied up the luggage, gave final hugs and headed our separate ways. It was weird being in my bed on a Sunday night, like I usually am, because it almost felt like I hadn't been in 3 different states over the week-end. It was the shortest vacation ever, but we packed so much into it! I was super sad because when this trip was over it meant I didn't know when I would see Caren next, but LUCKILY we just got our tickets for Bonnaroo on Saturday so I will see her June 12th!!! Very excited for Bonnaroo because I'm not getting a last Spring Break so this is my Spring break 3 months late :)
